Myrtle Beach Dayssss.....
After the practice run, I decided that Nathan and I could handle making the trip solo. So, we packed up the baby (and almost everything else we own) and headed back down to Cherry Grove. We only spent one night, then headed south to Myrtle to see Grandma and Pop-Pop. Walker once again had a blast playing in the ocean! However, I somehow managed to get stung by a jellyfish... in 6 inches of water... on the butt cheek. Niiiiice. Other than that, we had a great time and Walker was a very good boy :) We headed back up to Cherry Grove for a couple days and took him back to ride the merry-go-round and this time, the train. Obviously, he loved it! He also had his first bite of ice cream. I think he's a fan :)

A Plea....
Dear person who has clearly stolen my sweet baby boy and replaced him with this child who has been SCREAMING bloody murder all day long and will not sleep. I would really appreciate my baby back. Please return him ASAP, no questions asked. Thanks.

Guess Who Got His First Tooth???
Yep, you guessed it! Walker's first tooth officially broke through today :) I would love to post pics, but we haven't even been able to see it, yet. Walker likes to stick his tongue out anytime you try to look at his gums. Either way, you can definitely feel a little sharp tooth on his bottom right side. Our little baby is growing up!

Life's a Beach
Wow, going to the beach is definitely different now! No more lounging on the beach with a cooler and a book for hours... Nope, but it's different in a great way! Walker and I went down to Cherry Grove for a few days with Nana and Papa Coach. This was our test run because Nathan and I will be taking him back down in a few weeks. I quickly realized what I should have brought and what I did pack and didn't need. I guess you figure it all out as you go...

Walker had the best time swimming, splashing in the ocean, and (as much as his Daddy will hate it) playing in the sand. In fact, it seems he even likes to eat the sand :) We also went and rode his first ride at the new Pavilion near Cherry Grove. Walker was such a good boy and I can't wait to take him back!

Eye Appointment...
So, not quite the news we were hoping for... Walker had his eye appointment with a pediatric specialist in Greenville on Wednesday. The good news is that Walker's eyes are developing as they should and all of the parts are connected and working as they should be (Thank goodness! That thought had never even crossed my mind!) However, as we suspected, he has some weak muscles in his left eye. As it turns out, he is also pretty farsighted in the same eye. More so than the dr. would like to see at this point. He said that we were probably just at the "tip of the iceberg" and to expect to see the laziness progress over the next few months. We go back in September and if his prediction is right, then we will look at patching or glasses.
As a mother, obvioulsy you don't want anything to be "wrong" with your baby. I'm so thankful that it's not anything worse, and I know there are many things more terrible than eye problems, but it still hurts...
On a different note, Walker and I are headed to the beach with Nana and Papa Coach tomorrow. Nathan is paddling in West Virginia until Tuesday, so we are off for some sun and sand :) Right now, I'm working on packing "lightly" with a 7 month old. Is that even possible??? Wish me luck and I'm sure there will be TONS of pictures to follow!
