Showers, showers, and more showers!

Nathan and I are so blessed to have so many wonderful family and friends in our lives. Thank you to everyone for all of the showers and gifts we were given. Walker is going to be one lucky little boy!!

34 Weeks

WOW! The countdown is really on! Only 6 more weeks :)

My doctor's appointment yesterday was short and sweet. Everything looks good and I go back in 2 weeks. We will check my fluid level by ultrasound again, then (more pictures!). After that, I go every week until little Walker decides to get here. I really can't believe it is so close!!

32 Weeks!

Look at those cheeks!! Little Walker is definitely growing and filling out. He weighs just about 4.5 lbs. He is beginning to feel awfully heavy in my tummy...
My fluid level was still at 95% at our last appointment. It is still high, but the doctors feel like it is nothing to get too excited about. I now go for check-ups every 2 weeks and then in 3 weeks, I will go every week! We are getting close!
We have lots of upcoming showers, so I will be sure to continue posting pictures :)

First Baby Shower!

My first baby shower was hosted by Lauren and Aunt Karen and was at my mom's house. It was absolutely wonderful! We got so many thoughtful and useful gifts and I had a great time :) I have begun washing, organizing, and putting away things in the nursery. This is such an exciting time! Thank you so much to everyone!!

29 Weeks

We went to the dr. again yesterday and were able to get TONS of pictures :) I just posted a few of my favorites. He still looks like a little Nathan, but is starting to fill out a little more in the cheeks. He has gone from being in the 54% for growth to the 71%... It seems he may be following in his Daddy's footsteps and be a big baby! My fluid level is continuing to rise, and I am now at the 97% for amount of fluid. The doctor still doesn't seem to be too terribly concerned, and says we will just continue to monitor. I go back in 3 weeks for another ultrasound to see if it has gotten any higher.
I am feeling kicks and punches and rolls like crazy! He weighs almost 3 lbs and is just over 16 inches long. Getting in and out of bed and rolling over are starting to become more and more difficult. Despite that, I still feel great!
I am getting ready for my first shower on October 4th. This is hosted by Lauren and my Aunt Karen and will be at my mom's house. I can't wait to see everyone and show them the pictures!!!

Yesterday's appointment was supposed to be pretty quick, but it ended up taking a little bit longer than planned... First, I had to do the glucose screening test. That means I had to drink some really terrible tasting lemon-lime flavored sugar water. I chugged it as quickly as possible, so it wasn't too bad. Then, I had to wait an hour, have blood drawn, and see the doctor. The results of that test should be back in about 5 days.

When I met with the doctor, we heard the baby's heartbeat (still the best sound ever!) and he measured my belly for the first time. Turns out I am measuring 6 cm bigger than I should be!! He sent me for an ultrasound to see what was going on. The baby is perfect and right where he should be, but I am in the 95% for fluid in the placenta. Go figure..... It could have something to do with blood sugar, but we won't know until we get the results from the glucose screening test.

Other than that, everything was great! We got the most amazing picture of his face, and I think he looks just like Nathan :) My next appointment is September 24th, and we will do another ultrasound then. I can't believe how much he has grown and changed in the past month! I can't wait to see him again!

Back to School

Nathan and I both started back to school this week. Summer is officially over... :( We are hoping the next 4 months go by as quickly as the past 2 have!!
I am 23 weeks this week, so we have reached and passed the halfway mark! I go back to the doctor on the 24th of this month for my monthly appointment. They will also be doing a standard glucose test at this time.
The nursery is coming together, but I haven't taken any pictures! I need to get on the ball and start posting...

Busy Day

Today was a very busy day! Lauren and I spent the entire day in Greenville working on the baby registry. Nathan and I are now registered at Target and Babies R Us. We found lots of great stuff and I think we got everything done! I am so excited to begin working on the nursery!! I will post pictures as it starts coming along :)

I went back to the doctor today, and everything went great! She said the ultrasound looked great and our little boy looked healthy :)

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!

Nathan and I are so excited to be having a boy!! I was SHOCKED! I just knew it was a girl. Nathan, of course, was right :) Everything looked good on the ultrasound, but I didn't get to talk to the doctor... he was in surgery. I go back on Tuesday to talk to him about how everything looks.

Tomorrow is the Big Day!

Our doctor's appointment is tomorrow at 3:00! We are just praying for a healthy baby, boy or girl :) We will let everyone know very soon!

Baby's First Trip to Vegas

Over the 4th, Lauren, Mama, and I met my Aunt Karen and Cousin Ryan in Las Vegas! We had a great time!
As of tomorrow, I will be 18 weeks. The baby is the size of a sweet potato and is moving like crazy. I am definitely feeling flutters. They are sporadic and some are harder or more noticable than others, but I definitely feel it! I can't wait until Nathan can finally feel it :) It's amazing how much my tummy has changed in the past few weeks. There's no doubt the baby is growing!
Only one more week until we find out the sex! I can't wait and will be sure to post as soon as we find out!

At the Beach

Nathan and I have been at the beach since Sunday and are having a great time! Needless to say, getting in a bathing suit isn't quite as much fun as it used to be, but other than that, everything is wonderful. My tummy seems to be growing by the day, and I think I will have Nathan take some pictures soon. I feel like I have finally gotten through the, "Is she fat or pregnant" stage :)

Tomorrow I will be 16 weeks and our baby will be the length of a large avocado. It is developing hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes and is finally able to hear our voices! I haven't felt any more "flutters," but I am hoping our voices will coax him/her to move :)

June Dr. Appt

I went to the doctor this morning and everything was great! Dr. Caron was able to find the hearbeat very easily and he said the heart rate was about 140. My next appointment is July 16th at 3:00. This is the big ultrasound where we will find out the sex of the baby :) Both Nathan and I are very excited and can't wait to find out what it is!
It's hard to believe I will be 15 weeks on Friday. It seems like the weeks are just flying by! We will be going to the beach on Monday, so I am looking forward to getting some good relaxation and sun time. I'm hoping to feel the baby start moving any time now... I think I may have felt the first flutter last week, but by the time I realized what it may have been, it was over. I haven't felt anything since. I will be sure to post when I feel it for sure!!

Time is Flying!!

Wow! 13 weeks has almost come and gone! This week, I officially have a peach in my tummy. Believe me, you can tell there is a peach in my tummy... Next week, we will have a lemon. I thought that sounded kind of funny to go from a peach to a lemon, but I guess a lemon is technically longer from end to end. Either way, our little baby is growing like crazy! Mama took me to the hospital and did an ultrasound last Sunday and we were able to see the baby's profile and an arm :) I will have to scan the picture and post it soon. I go to the doctor again next Wednesday for my monthly check-up. July should be the BIG appointment. I really don't have a preference, but still have the feeling it's a girl. The needle test confirmed my suspicions, so we will see :)

12 Weeks!

Today I am officially 12 weeks! The baby is about the size of a small tomato. He/she (though I'm pretty sure it's a she... Nathan, of course, thinks it's a boy) is moving like crazy inside me, I just can't feel it, yet. I should be able to start feeling movement in about 4 more weeks!
I told my students that I was pregnant today and they were so excited! One little girl teared up she was so happy and there was lots of belly rubbing (I'm still trying to get used to that!). I can't believe they were surprised. I thought for sure they already knew!

Weekly Update

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I am resting today after a long past few days, and am so glad to have tomorrow off. As of Friday, I am 11 weeks and our baby is the size of a large lime. This week we are developing hair follicles, fingernails and toenails, and teeth buds. This is such an amazing process!

Doctor's Appointment

I had my monthly doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon, and I am happy to report that everything went fine! It took what seemed like forever to find the heartbeat, but when we finally heard it, it was probably the most wonderful sound I have ever heard. My next appointment is on June 17th.
Nathan and I are counting down the days until school is out. Only 7 more days!!! We can't wait to spend the summer in our new house :)

First Post

Hey you guys! I thought I would try this out so I can keep everyone up to date on how everything is going.
As you all know, we are very excited to be expecting our first baby on December 11, 2009! As of this past Friday, I am 10 weeks. I have my 2nd appointment tomorrow and am very eager to go! I know everything will be fine, but I will feel much better when we hear that little heartbeat again.
I'll be sure to let everyone know how the appointment goes :)
